Seven patterns. Countless late-night cups of tea. Today I want to share what went into creating The Evening Slip — the silk dress we’ve poured our heart into, the one we hope becomes your quiet go-to for nights you want to feel luminous but still wholly yourself.

Our Design Priorities
When Jade first sketched this dress, these were her non-negotiables:
-
Fluid movement — If you move, the fabric moves; if you stand still, it drapes like second skin.
-
Cut that flatters — Not rigid, but a shape that sweeps past the knees; bias cut to skim without clinging.
-
Subtle support — Thin straps that don’t dig, slight bust darts so you feel held, not constrained.
-
Minimalism in details — No heavy hardware; just silk and seam, maybe a mother-of-pearl button or two.
-
Versatile enough for day & evening — Dress it up with heels, dress it down with sandals or a cardigan.
The Fabric & Finishing
We tested at least five silk types: some too shiny, some too stiff, others gorgeous but delicate in the wrong places. Ultimately, we landed on a mid-weight charmeuse silk — it has sheen but not glare; it holds up at the seams, yet still feels weightless when you walk.
Why It Means Something
We always felt that certain pieces don’t just fill your wardrobe — they anchor moments. The Evening Slip is meant to be one of those. Worn on a first date, at a rooftop dinner, or just watching the city lights from your window. It’s intimate. It’s soft. It’s the dress that doesn’t shout, but you notice it anyway.
Jade made it because she wanted something that felt like home — in texture, in silhouette, in the way it moves with you.
What’s Different This Time
Compared with earlier versions, here’s how The Evening Slip evolved:
-
The neckline dropped slightly, so when you look down, it frames without exposing too much.
-
The side seams were moved 0.5 cm back so pockets could be added — yes, pockets. Pockets that don’t ruin the line.
-
The slip falls just at the mid-calf now, which visually lengthens the leg but keeps steps manageable.
-
The inner lining is a fine silk charmeuse too — so there’s no clatter or stiffness, just softness.
Wear It With Intention
We imagine you slipping into it after dusk, with soft lighting, maybe a single silver chain resting on your collarbone. No fuss. Let the silk breathe. Let your skin feel it.
If you pair it with our silver cuffs, they elevate the silence of the dress. Add a wrap-satin shawl for cooler evenings. For a gentle contrast, try a pale knit over-shoulder piece.
